While New Year’s Day is the official holiday, the real party happens on New Year’s Eve. It’s the biggest annual party, and it’s celebrated around the globe. There are a lot of ways you can ring in the New Year, including hanging out with family and friends for a quiet evening at home. But who really wants to spend their New Year’s Eve doing that? So, if you’re like most people and you want to feel the energy that comes with an amazing New Year’s Eve celebration, then you have to head to the New Year’s Eve party central: none other than New York City.
New York is famous for a lot of things and the annual crystal ball drop in Times Square is certainly one of them. The ball drop has become an iconic part of our country’s culture and if you haven’t ever experienced it live, you should. However, while watching the ball drop is very exciting, New York is actually home to several other spectacular events for New Year’s Eve. So, if you would rather avoid the 10 million people that will be watching the big ball, here are a few other great ways to spend your New Year’s Eve in the Big Apple.
